So your’e looking for Electric Guitar lessons… You may be past beginner stage and looking to improve your knowledge, technique solo and lead work but in case you are a beginner let’s find out a bit more about this instrument…

These guitars plug into an amp, usually solid bodied and so heavier and with thinner strings than acoustic they can be easier to play.  It’s a versatile instrument with a wealth of different sounds to be created, assisted by using effects pedals and other gadgets.  You can explore how to use these and the fantastic sounds that can be created.

Together we can explore the various guitar sounds found on some of best known songs/tracks around, delving into how some of the famous players did what they did with electric guitar from years ago and right up to date, really fascinating.

We study the styles of a lot of the favourites, Clapton, Knopfler, Hendrix, Page, Marvin, Quo, Queen and so on… too many to list.

Learning the chords and other basic techniques are similar to the acoustic but there are differences. You will find out these differences if you choose to have electric guitar lessons with me.

Dont worry you can mix and match your lessons if you want to try acoustic too.

  • Pete’s a great teacher, always very fair and honest. His website really reflects his personality and he always makes sure that the your’e happy with the lessons, if you are not happy with something then talk to Pete and he can fix it!  I’ve played for 15 years and had several tutors, I’ve always struggled with timing, but Pete took me back to basics and helped me get things tight. He’s completely changed my approach to playing, I recommend him highly!!!

  • As a complete novice, I found Pete’s tuition easy to understand. Pete, himself, is very patient and his studio has a calm & pleasant atmosphere and his teaching relaxes you so that we also enjoy a laugh or two along the way.  In finding out which type of music I liked he was quick to adapt this to the song/s that I would be interested in learning to play, to keep my enthusiasm going whilst learning the guitar. Now I am progressing and am able to hear the beginnings of what sounds like the song I chose which is very satisfying for me.
